Sandra MacPherson has been working with watercolours since 1992. Largely self-taught, she has studied at the Ontario College of Art & Design and with various professional artists. Sandra has been commissioned to paint a number of "house portraits" for people wishing to give them as gifts to family and friends. Her painting, "Peonies", a watercolour created for a wedding invitation, is included in the juried permanent art collection at the historic Heintzman House in Thornhill.
Sandra's paintings are a quiet reminder of the warmth of community and the calm, peaceful beauty in life around us - a counterpoint to the rush and clamour of today's busy world. Her favourite subjects celebrate the simplicity of everyday living including children, houses, landscapes and flowers. Sandra enjoys the tangible, lasting result of a successfully completed painting - a symbol of things that last in an ever-changing world.
Sandra has participated in both group and solo shows in Oro-Medonte, York Region and Toronto. She is a member and Past-President of the Willowdale Group of Artists.
Her work is included in both private and corporate collections across Canada.
